Volunteering within organisations can improve people's confidence by helping them to realise they have undiscovered abilities.
Many volunteers discover that they have skills they were unaware of and quite often surprise themselves at how they react to different situations. This is usually because people are putting themselves into positions that they have never been exposed to before resulting in a discovery of a whole new skill set.
People are often capable of much more than they give themselves credit for and realising this can offer a huge confidence boost.
Furthermore, a survey conducted by TimeBank and Reed Executive has revealed that 75% of employers would opt to employ someone who has done some sort of voluntary work, which is even more good news!
